Why Do Some Parents Beat Up Their Kids?
The common conception is that parents are supposed to take care of their kids but in reality it doesn’t really happen that way. In the bible there are instances where parents failed to take good care of their kids like for an example in the old testament taken from 2 Kings 21:6. King Manasseh offered his son in an occult worship by burning him alive. God was literally provoked into anger.
Our world we live in is so different from the one that God desired for us. He wanted kids to grow up in an environment where they are loved and cared for by their parents but apparently it’s not like that in many situations. Parents don’t always grow up like they should and they don’t often learn to control their emotions well. Often they take and vent their frustrations on their kids. Parents sometimes get so caught up in their own lives that they forget that their kids need them to take care of them and love them.
What God desires in a family is that the man is the head of the household and God is the head of the man. The blessings come from God to the man and to the family and that occurs everywhere in any organisation. That’s why in the old testament where good kings like David and Soloman brings forth blessings to the nation whereas bad kings like Manasseh brings forth curse and desolution for the nation. So as Christians especially the men, remember your duties as a husband and father. How well your family prospers depends on your walk with God. Daniel Tay.
